When we say, "You are my best friend forever," we mean it. Sarah Elizabeth Quinn has been my best friend for about five years. We first met in Pop Warner for cheerleading, and we instantly clicked. We have never gotten in a fight before, and we are always there for each other. I can trust her with anything, and so can she. Sarah and I have so much in common that you will not be surprised why we are best friends.
We have always gotten ourselves into some sort of trouble, and have done dumb things whenever we are together. It started at a young age, and it is still continuing today. For instance, when we were younger, we use to be best friends with these girls Taylor and Elyse. One day, we decided to play hide and seek around the entire Brick Plaza. Now thinking about it, it was a really stupid idea, but at the time we did not care. We split ourselves up, Taylor and I, and Sarah with Elyse. Sarah and Elyse got to go hide first, so Taylor and I went to go look for them. We first went into A&P, but they were no where in sight. Taylor and I walked out, and started walking to Bon Ton. On the way there, there was this old, creepy looking guy staring at us. He then said, "Hi, I am just here with my mother." Taylor and I looked at each other and decided to run. We ran into Bon Ton, and at the time Taylor was on the phone with Elyse, and she started to explain what happened. Taylor and I finally found Sarah and Elyse in the bathroom, and we walked out. When we walked out, the old man was out in the aisle, staring at us. Taylor grabbed my hand, and we ran into the bathroom and locked ourselves into a stall. I was on the phone with my mother and I was trying to explain what was going on. All of a sudden, the door opened, and our hearts dropped. It turned out that it was just a women coming in there. She over heard me trying to explain to my mother what was going on, and when I got off the phone, the lady said, "Alright girls, what is going on." We then explained what happened, and she said that we have to tell someone that worked at the store. We walked out of the bathroom, and right outside the door, the man was waiting out there and listening to what we were saying in the bathroom. The lady said, "What is wrong with you? You scared these girls half to death!" All he said in reply was, "I am just here with my mother." We ended up telling customer service and they said that he was not here with his mother, but comes there on a regular basis. When all of this was going on, Sarah had no idea what was going, but Elyse did. Elyse was contemplating whether or not to tell someone, but then explained what happened to Sarah. By the time Sarah was aware with what was happening, we were already out, and found them.
That was only one stupid situation, that we put ourselves into. Since then, we would sneak out of our houses when we had sleepovers late at night, and cross highways and main roads. We go out places and count how many guys would hit on us in one night, and our record is fifteen in one night. We do things that we should not be doing at parties, and we do not even care one bit. Just a few days ago, we were at the Brick Plaza, and we were hungry and wanted to go walk to Burger King. I dragged Sarah across the highway with six lanes of traffic. I thought that there was going to be no cars coming because on one side of the yellow lines, there was not any cars coming. Once we got to the middle of the yellow line, we were stuck. By that time, there were cars coming on both sides speeding past us. We were standing there for awhile, but then there was no cars coming, so we just turned back.
Not only do we do dumb things, our personalities are extremely alike. We both are carefree and have no tolerance. Sarah and I both like to do what we want, when we want. We tell people how it is, and we do not care. I am not going to sit there and lie to someone if they ask does my outfit look bad. If it does, I will tell you; You asked, so here is the answer. Sarah is the exact same way as me. We get mad very easily and will flip out on the littlest things. One time, I was on the phone with Sarah and we wanted to know if the movie, The Uninvited, was any good. We both knew that our friend Caroline has seen it, so Sarah told me to text her and ask her how it was. I texted her and I was waiting for a reply. Sarah asked me if she answered back and I said no, and started flipping, and so did Sarah. I decided to go back to my text and resend it to Caroline, and when I looked I realized that the message did not send. I told Sarah, and we started cracking up at ourselves, saying how vicious we got right away, not knowing that it did not even send.
If Sarah and I ever got in a fight, and stopped being friends, it seriously would be the worst thing ever. I honestly, do not have that many friends that are girls, because I cannot stand girls. Every single girl is a liar, backstabber, and two faced, so why would I want to be friends with them? Sarah is the only girl that I can trust anything with, and tell any little secret to. If she was not there for me, I really think I would have a mental breakdown. It sounds like I am being dramatic, but I am being serious. I would be even worse if she ever past away. That would be the worst day of my life, I would not know what to do and would be in complete shock.
Sarah is the best friend anyone would want. When we are together we have so much fun. We can sit anywhere, and just talk, and be laughing endlessly. We just kick back, relax, and do what we want. If I did not have her in my life anymore, it would be the worst thing ever. I cannot even imagine it, nor do I want to. Without her, my life would be a wreck.

Juliet is the west, and Hermia is the sun.
In the play A Midsummer Night's Dream, by Shakespeare, there are many characters that you can compare with to the play, Romeo and Juliet. In Romeo and Juliet, Juliet one of the main characters. In A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hermia is also one of the main characters. Hermia and Juliet are both extremely alike. They both share many characteristics that are similar in both plays.
Hermia is Eugus's daughter, and Eugus is a respected noblemen. Hermia is so beautiful that she has two men that are chasing after her. They both want to marry her, but she wants to marry the one man that her father forbids her of. Hermia has the choice of only marrying Demetrius by her father's rules. Hermia on the other hand, does not wish to marry Demetrius. She has intentions of marrying her love, Lysander. Hermia defies her father's wish, and sticks with Lysander. In Romeo and Juliet, Juliet is ordered to marry Paris by her father's wishes, but she defies him, also, and decides to marry Romeo. Juliet is a very beautiful woman, just like Hermia, and has two men that want to marry her. She does not like the man that her father wishes for her to pursue. Both Juliet and Hermia were in the same situation.
Hermia is a strong-willed and independent woman. She refuses to comply to marry Demetrius even when Theseus, the duke of Athens, orders her to obey her father. Demetrius says that she must abide with her father's orders, or else she will be banished or put to death. Hermia uses her intuition to do what she wants, and she still defied her father's wishes. Juliet also is a strong-willed and independent woman. She does not want to listen to her parents and she does not want to do what they want her to do, and that is to marry Paris. In Romeo and Juliet, Paris is just like Demetrius. He wants Juliet to listen to her mother and father. Juliet is a smart girl and makes these special arrangements to have her marry Romeo anyway.
When Hermia refused to marry Demetrius, Lysander and Hermia decided to elope and get married. Hermia is so in love with Lysander, that she does not care that she is disrespecting her entire family. Lysander believes that love must conquer all obstacles, so he pursues Hermia to run away from her home and family with him, into the forest where they can secretly get married. Lysander says to Hermia, " Or, if there were a sympathy in choice, war, death, or sickness did lay siege to it, making it momentary as a sound, swift as a shadow, short as any dream, brief as lightening in the collied night; that, in a spleen, unfolds both heaven and Earth, and ere a man hath power to say "Behold!" The jaws of darkness do devour it up. So quick bright things come to confusion." Lysander is saying that when you have your love life determined by someone else, that even if the lovers are a good match, their love can be ruined by war, death, or sickness, so that affair only lasts an instant. Their time together might be as fleeting as a shadow or as short as a dream, lasting only as long as it takes a lightening bolt to flash across the sky. Before you can say "look," it is gone. That is how intense things like love are quickly destroyed. Hermia thinks that, if that is so, then the true lovers are always thwarted, and that it must be a rule of fate. She thinks that they should just try to be patient and figure out their problem carefully. Lysander then realizes that he has an aunt who is very rich and lives about twenty miles away from Athens. There they can elope and get married. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo says that she should meet him while she tells her parents that she is at confession, and then they will get married. Juliet agrees with him and thinks that after that, she will move to Manchua to start their lives together. With both Hermia and Juliet, where they both elope to, there they can have the life they want without any problems.
Juliet and Hermia are both very much alike. They both have similar personalities and have the same problems. They both are very smart and independent women. They do what they want, when they want, and will not let anyone stop them, including their families. They both have people that try and get them to marry the right person, but Hermia, nor Juliet, agrees with them. They think that it is ridiculous for someone else to determine their love life, and not marry the one that they want to. They each think that if their families really did care for them that they would respect their decisions, but they do not. Juliet and Hermia both decide to elope and do what it is that their heart is really telling them to do. They cannot stand the thought of marrying someone besides their love, and they will do whatever it is to get what they want, including death being amongst them.

Autobiography
Imagine going through ten months of hard work and sweat. In my school at Brick Memorial High School, we have a cheerleading team that I am a part of. We have twenty-six people on our team, twenty-five girls, and one boy. We have been working very hard since the summer and now it has finally paid off. We were going to take part in our school's very first competitive cheerleading co-ed squad, and we are all very excited about it this year, especially my coach, Mrs. Crystal Handchen.
Mrs. Handchen has been cheering since 1970 until today. She has dedicated thirty-nine years of her life to the hard world of cheerleading. She is so passionate about cheerleading and takes it very seriously. She sometimes acts like a psycho, but I realized that it was for our benifit. She wants us to work hard, and to look good. She never likes to see us fail, only to succeed. When she yells at me I get the rush to do ten times better because she intimidates me. When she yells at me it makes me more detirmined to do better then what I was doing before. Mrs. Handchen is a very intimidating person because for one thing she only likes perfection. She will not take anything that is not perfect, and will keep pushing us to make us the best that we can ever possibly be. She also use to be a body builder and would compete in hard core contests. When you have a coach that use to be a body builder and tells us stories about how she would beat up the boys when she was in highschool, it is kind of frightening to see what she will do to us if we mess up.
My best friend Sarah Quinn is a part of my team and we find Mrs. Handchen to be hilarious. During our practices, she will say the craziest things and Sarah and I will be the only ones busting out laughing. Sarah has been my best friend ever since about third grade. I met her during Pop Warner. Sarah and I always go to practice together and we are always practicing our routine together. If it was not for her, I do not think that I would be catching on to our routine as quickly.
Our first competition was on Valentines Day, and it was two and a half weeks before then, and we still did not have a full routine. During our practices, Mrs. Handchen would put some parts together, but not everything. At that point all we had were stunt groups, a cheer, and an opening. To make the routine complete we need a tumbling sequence, a pyramid, basket tosses, flexiblity stunts, a dance, and music. We did not feel ready for our competition at all. I was attending every practice two times a week up until the practice before our competition.
Now it was time to decide if we were going to compete at all. I did not feel ready, but by this time, we had our whole routine. It was crunch time, and all of us knew it. I was working exremely hard, and so were all my teammates. Mrs. Handchen felt that we were ready to compete. She told us, "You girls, and John, can do it. I feel confident. I am not panicking, and when, if, I panick, then you know it is not good. I can see you guys, and you are looking great. You really outdid yourselves in six practices. I know to you guys it might not seem like enough, but it is. We are competing against one team, I know you guys can pull it off. You have an awesome routine. So we are going to be competing at the competition on Saturday, and you will strive for success. I know you all can do it because each and everyone of you are perfectionists, just like me." When I was listening to Mrs. Handchen, all I could keep thinking about is that we just learned our routine so we must not be all that perfect. I respect Mrs. Handchen and everything, but that just did not not feel right. I guess we would all find out the next day at our competition.
The next morning I woke up at about nine o'clock. We had to meet at the highschool at twelve and be ready with our hair curled, makeup done, uniform on, and bow in. When it was about time to leave, I actually started feeling more confident. I was actually really excited to compete today. When Sarah picked me up we were ranting on about how each of us were just equally excited about today. At that time I was not nervous at all. Once we got on the bus we were headed straight for the Asbury Park Convention Center.
When we got there, we got off the bus, and headed inside. We put our bags down in the auditorium part of it, where we were going to be warming up. Our warm up time was at 2:10 and we were schudeled to compete at 2:45. While we were standing by the door waiting to go inside to warm up, Mrs. Handchen started making her way towards the front of us. While she was walking she tripped and John, Sarah, and I were the only people that saw. We all started hysterically laughing. Sarah turned around so that she was not looking at herwhile she was laughing, John had to walk away, and I just stood there, laughing in her face. I could not help it, it was just so funny. After that died down, she started telling us what we were going to be working on when it was our turn to warm up. She told us that right when we get on there to go to our basket tosses first, followed by our flexibilty stunts, then our pyramid, and then finally our jumps. She set it up just like that because we only had five minutes to warm up.
Finally, it was our turn for warmups. We hit everything perfectly, and Mrs. Handchen said our jumps were looking good. After warmups we moved to another warmup spot where we went to warm up our tumbling. Everyone's tumbling was looking good and we were really getting pumped. The only nervous thingnow, is now that we were done warming up tumbling, it was two more teams, and then we were on the floor to compete. When we were waiting for our turn to come up, one of the seniors on our team, Sarah Thomas, told us to hold hands and to pray. We said the Our Father and then after that we all started to get nervous. We were now one team away and it was actually becoming more real. Before this point, it felt so surreal.
It was finally our turn to compete. We got on the side of the floor, held hands and chanted, "Fierce and ready in 2009, coming together, now is our time. Mustangs!" We then spirited onto the floor and we were then waiting for our music to come on. We started off really good and then it suddenly went bad. During the flexibility stunts, Sarah Thomas's group fell, and their whole group was totally on the gound. When that happens, you get major deductions because it is a safey violation. The next bad thing was during our pyramid, the two groups that were supposed to hitch out fell at the exact same time. When I saw this I was saying we were done and that it is over. We finished our routine, and ran off the floor. I was panting because I was so out of breath. Mrs. Handchen took us up to the top of the areana and was talking to us. She said, "Do not cry over this. This is our first competition. We did not get first this week, but we tried. Do not worry about it. I am not mad this week, and when I am not mad, then that is good."
When she was done talking we reliezed that our competition was up next. We ran out to go see them and we were all watching. The team we were competing against was called the Colonia Patriots. They had nine football players on their team and they were throwing their girls quite high. They did not have any stunts that fell, so we were sure we lost. The only bad parts of their routine was their jumps, transitions, and their dance. It was not sharp at all, but it did not matter. I knew we lost but there are still more competitions this season. I was not all that worried.
Now it was time for the awards. We all got down on the floor and were seated with all the other teams, not only Colonia, but all the other ones in different divisions. We were saying not to get upset when they do not call us, just to shake it off. First they were doing the highschool teams that were not co-ed. When they got to the co-ed division they did the small division first. We had to keep waiting forever it seemed until it was our turn.
"Now it is time for Varsity co-ed large squads." The anouncer said. Okay it was finally our turn and we were all telling each other not to get upset and just act like we were against like five other teams when they place us second. "And first place goes to...Brick Memorial Mustangs!" We all jumped up, shocked that we won when we had about four stunts drop. Some girls were saying we were set up because they never named the second place team, and some of us were saying that they just got disqualified. I did not care, however, because we won! After all our hard wark, we actually won. It seemed so surreal after all the stunts that went down. Mrs. Handchen was also surprised. She said that she was very shocked, but that we will take it.
Now that competition was over, we were on our way back to the highschool. The girls, and John, on the bus were talking about going to Apple Bee's tonight at ten for half-priced appitizers. That competition made me relieze that if you put your heart and soul into something that you dedicate all your time to, you will get everything that you always dream of. Now I am more detirmined not to give up at all in life and keep on succeeding.
